    ETA bombing of the Hipercor store in Barcelona

    On 19 June 1987, a car bomb exploded in the underground car park of a Hipercor supermarket in Barcelona. The attack killed 21 civilians and injured 45, including children. Members of ETA were convicted for their involvement; Santiago Arrospide and Rafael Caride Simón received sentences of 790 years in prison.
