Hitachi Rail announces Maryland factory investment
Hitachi Rail announced Washington County, Maryland, as the location for a planned $70 million factory to build Washington Metro’s 8000-series railcars and serve the wider North American railway market. The site was scheduled to become operational in winter 2023/24.
