Manila tour-bus hostage crisis
On August 23, 2010, former Philippine police officer Rolando Mendoza took 25 members of a Hong Kong tour group hostage on a Hong Thai bus in Manila. Eight hostages died, seven were injured, and six were unharmed. Mendoza was killed during the police response.
