Western Sahara phosphate sourcing controversy
Incitec Pivot was criticized for importing phosphate rock from Western Sahara, whose sovereignty is disputed and which has been administered by Morocco since 1975. Ethical-investment organizations argued that the sourcing raised international-law and ethical concerns, and several investors excluded the company from selected portfolios.
