    Former deputy general manager Gu Tiquan sentenced to 13 years for 5.34 million yuan in bribery

    Gu Tiquan, former deputy general manager of Jiangnan Shipyard and later chairman of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group), used his position to help Renji Company become a supplier to Jiangnan Shipyard Group, supply steel and collect payments, taking more than 5.34 million yuan in bribes and embezzling 520,000 yuan. The first-instance court sentenced him to 13 years in prison; in 2018 the second-instance court rejected the appeal and upheld the original judgment.
