Kingfisher appoints Sebastian Gundel as CEO effective 1 February 2027
Kingfisher plc announced on 13 October 2026 the appointment of Sebastian Gundel as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2027, when he will also join the Board of Directors. Gundel previously served as CEO of European home improvement retailer OBI. As part of the same transition, Thierry Garnier will step down as CEO and Board member on 31 December 2026, and CFO Bhavesh Mistry will serve as interim CEO during January 2027 to support a smooth handover.
