Lineage says no hazardous chemicals were stored at burned Boyle Heights warehouse
In a statement this week, Lineage said harmful chemicals were not stored at its burned Boyle Heights cold-storage warehouse, stating that the facility's ammonia refrigeration system was safely pumped out shortly after the June 17 fire began and the ammonia was subsequently removed from the site, that the Los Angeles Fire Department reported no ammonia was detected during its response, and that subsequent environmental monitoring has consistently shown results within normal levels with no ammonia concentrations above health-based action levels. The company said it has shared relevant testing and monitoring information on its website and with regulatory agencies and will continue to do so.

California Communities Against Toxics sues EPA over FOIA delays on Lineage fire records
Environmental nonprofit California Communities Against Toxics (CCAT) filed a lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles federal court against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, alleging the agency is failing to comply with Freedom of Information Act deadlines for releasing records about its response to the June fire at the Lineage Logistics cold-storage facility in Boyle Heights, which raged for days, led to millions of pounds of rotting food and emitted toxic and hazardous substances that impacted nearby residents. CCAT alleges large amounts of ammonia were released into the air and is seeking ground-based air-monitoring data and official communications concerning the extent of possible chemical contamination. An EPA representative said the agency does not comment on pending litigation.
