FDA announces recall of Magic Tea Brand Sleep Gripe Water over undisclosed alcohol content

The FDA issued a recall late Wednesday for one lot (number 25122bw, best-if-used-by December 2028) of Magic Tea Brand Sleep Gripe Water dietary supplement, sold through Secrets of Tea and on Amazon, after FDA inspectors found the product contained approximately 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol, and 0.48% isopropanol that were not listed on the label. The FDA warned that these alcohols can impair the central nervous system and that infant ethanol exposure has been linked to long-term developmental consequences, and advised consumers to immediately stop using the product. No health issues or other emergencies have been reported related to the recalled product, according to the FDA.
