NHL fines Devils forward Evan Rodrigues $5,000 for high-sticking
The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced on Sunday a $5,000 fine against New Jersey Devils forward Evan Rodrigues for high-sticking Vancouver Canucks forward Marco Rossi during the Devils' 4-1 win on Saturday in Newark, N.J. The fine is the maximum allowable under the league's collective bargaining agreement, and the money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. Rodrigues had been assessed a four-minute double-minor penalty for high-sticking in the second period.
