Noble Corp., an offshore drilling contractor, filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 in Texas. The filing envisions eliminating more than $3.4 billion in borrowings through a debt-for-equity swap; bondholders agreed to invest $200 million, and Noble lined up a $675 million secured revolving credit facility.
