CVS Health partnered with Pennsylvania agencies to offer free COVID-19 testing at skilled nursing facilities statewide. Omnicare, a CVS Health company, was set to administer up to 50,000 tests beginning the week of June 29.

Federal government sues CVS over Omnicare prescription refills
The U.S. Department of Justice joined a legal case accusing CVS Health’s Omnicare business of dispensing drugs on expired or otherwise invalid prescriptions and fraudulently billing government-funded programs. CVS Health said the claims had no merit and that it would defend the case.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York sued Omnicare and parent CVS Health, alleging that Omnicare fraudulently billed federal health care programs for drugs dispensed on expired or otherwise invalid prescriptions. CVS denied the allegations and said it would defend the case.
