    Roundhill Investments launches S&P 500 Target 10,000 2030 ETF

US investment firm Roundhill Investments launched the Roundhill S&P 500 Target 10,000 2030 ETF (ticker XX) earlier in October 2026. The fund gains S&P 500 exposure via long-dated call options that pay off only if the index closes above 10,000 at the January 10, 2030 expiry, and would lose nearly all value otherwise; it charges a 0.99% management fee, and Roundhill itself warns the product is highly speculative and suitable only for investors who can bear a total loss of principal. The launch has drawn industry criticism, with ETF.com's Dave Nadig calling it a 'binary bet' on a preset outcome with gambling-like attributes and 'gamified finance', while Roundhill says it packages institutional-style leveraged, fixed-outcome call strategies into an ETF accessible to ordinary investors.
