Settlement over Showbox property lawsuit
The City of Seattle and 1426 First Avenue LLC settled a lawsuit over the city's temporary expansion of the Pike Place Market Historical District to include the Showbox property. The settlement includes $915,000 for attorney fees and other costs and a contingent option for a third party to purchase the property and Showbox name for $41.4 million if no landmark controls are imposed. Neither party admitted liability.
