Hackney Council investigating food safety and hygiene at Soho House's Shoreditch House

Hackney Council has opened an investigation into food safety and hygiene at Shoreditch House, a London venue of private members club Soho House, after a former chef alleged that out-of-date prepared food was re-labelled and served. The former staff member, Kamran Khan, said he was pressured to replace labels on unsold food, that the practice continued after the company told him on 24 August there was evidence to support his complaint, and that his employment was terminated earlier in September, which Soho House says was unrelated to his complaints. Soho House said the incident was isolated and not company policy, and that an external, independent investigation and audit was conducted.
