TD announces agreement to acquire Wells Fargo’s Canadian equipment finance business
Toronto-Dominion Bank announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Wells Fargo’s Canadian Direct Equipment Finance business. The acquisition was expected to close in the first half of 2021, subject to regulatory and other approvals and closing conditions.

TD reaches settlement over overdraft practices
TD Bank Group reached a US$122-million settlement with the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau following an investigation into overdraft marketing and sales practices. The bureau said TD violated the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and required restitution and a civil penalty. TD said it disagreed with the bureau’s conclusions and did not admit wrongdoing.
