The Stand faces criticism over casting a hearing actor as a deaf character

Ahead of The Stand's premiere on CBS All-Access, members of the deaf community criticized the series for casting hearing actor Henry Zaga as deaf character Nick Andros. An online letter signed by more than 70 people objected to the casting and said no deaf actors were invited to audition for the role.
