Court halts enforcement of Louisiana plant-based meat labeling law
The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana ruled for Tofurky on its motion for summary judgment and halted enforcement of Louisiana’s labeling law restricting terms such as “burger” and “sausage” on plant-based meat products. Tofurky had alleged that the law infringed its First Amendment rights.

Tofurky Plant-Based Burger debuts at Target stores
Tofurky’s Plant-Based Burger debuted at more than 600 Target stores nationwide. The burger is made with soy and vegetable protein and wheat gluten and was sold in a two-patty pack.
