    Tongfu Microelectronics Accused of Illegally Setting Up R&D Center in Taiwan; Hsinchu Prosecutors Indict 3 Executives

    According to a July 2021 report by Taiwan's Central News Agency, the Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office accused mainland packaging and testing company Tongfu Microelectronics of establishing R&D and business bases in Taiwan without permission, conducting business activities, and poaching talent, and indicted three people for violating the Act Governing Relations Between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area. Separately, according to Shenzhen Stock Exchange and customs records, in 2017 Tongfu Microelectronics was issued a regulatory letter by the Shenzhen Stock Exchange for failing to timely disclose during a restructuring that Tongrunda's performance fell short of forecasts; in 2018 a subsidiary was fined by customs for false declaration prices.
