Proofpoint announces $6.3 billion all-cash acquisition of Varonis
US cybersecurity firm Proofpoint, owned by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, announced on Thursday that Israeli-founded cybersecurity company Varonis has agreed to be acquired in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $6.3 billion. Varonis' board of directors unanimously approved the transaction, which is expected to close during the first half of 2027. The companies said the combination seeks to establish a leading platform for protecting enterprise information and AI systems.
