Founder unauthorized borrowing and related-party fund flows; stock plunges nearly 70% on resumption after 15-month suspension

Venus Medtech, the “first heart valve stock,” suspended trading in November 2023. Former chairman Zeng Min and former general manager Zi Zhenjun borrowed from the company without authorization, with maximum outstanding amounts totaling about RMB 630 million; the investigation also found about RMB 1.85 billion in related-party transfers and deposit pledge guarantees, among other things; both resigned. On the first trading day after resumption in March 2025, the share price fell more than 65%; Zi Zhenjun later faced another whistleblower report. The funds were returned with principal and interest, and management was replaced; no regulatory penalty conclusion has been seen.
