Vulcan Materials completed its acquisition of U.S. Concrete. U.S. Concrete’s common stock ceased trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market, and the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Vulcan.

Hempstead files lawsuit over 1,4-Dioxane contamination
The Town of Hempstead filed a federal lawsuit against Dow Chemical Company, Ferro Corporation and Vulcan Materials Company, accusing them of knowingly manufacturing, promoting and/or selling products containing 1,4-Dioxane despite knowing it could reach local water supply wells. The town seeks damages for water-treatment costs and punitive damages; these are allegations in the lawsuit.
