WiSig Networks' Koala-Tag satellite messaging device enters production
WiSig Networks announced at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 that its Koala-Tag satellite messaging device has entered the production stage. The tag pairs with a smartphone over Bluetooth through the Koala-Talk app, letting users send text messages, short voice clips, and SOS alerts via satellite, with target applications including fishing and coastal communities, remote workforces, disaster response, and outdoor safety. The production milestone advances WiSig's earlier collaboration with Viasat on testing its 5G NB-NTN chipset toward customer deployment.
