    Former Chairman Zou Shaolu Sentenced to Life for Bribery

    Zou Shaolu, former chairman of Yunnan Copper Group, accepted bribes of about RMB 19 million (RMB 8 million of which was attempted) and was a central figure in the Yunnan Copper corruption cluster case. A subsidiary was separately fined for environmental issues including excessive air emissions. In 2008, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and confiscation of all personal property.
