    175,000 workers join IG Metall day of action against car industry job cuts

    On 21 September, IG Metall organized a day-long, nationwide "Union Day of Action" under the motto "For a Future instead of Job Cuts," in which 175,000 workers at 280 locations across Germany's automotive and supplier industry protested against planned job cuts in the car industry, including thousands inside Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant, workers at Volkswagen Kassel-Baunatal and Braunschweig, workers at Volkswagen's commercial vehicles division and ZF Wabco, and 150 people attending publicly in front of the Daimler Truck plant in Kassel.
