It was launched in 1975 in Sullivan, Illinois, after an absentee employer closed a lawn and garden business, with individuals pooling resources to build a new company. The company began with the idea of developing a new and improved lawn sweeper, and its redesigned product attracted the attention of a major retailer, leading Agri-Fab to become an industry leader of lawn and garden attachments. It expanded its manufacturing facilities with a 12,500-square-foot building finished early in 1987, and its business model included a complete product line ranging from lawn carts, lawn sweepers, aerators, fertilizer sprayers and spreaders to snowblades.
