aktivoptik describes itself as having more than 30 years of company history, more than 70 locations nationwide, and more than 700 employees in both its own and franchise-run stores, making it one of the largest and most successful optician and hearing-aid chains in Germany. Over past decades it was repeatedly named a top employer and test winner in various consumer studies, and it transformed from a family business into a family-oriented company on an expansion course within the LoQu Optical Group. In 2018–2020, after 30 successful business years, Rolf Schneider decided on a succession solution with the Europe-wide investment company Argos Wityu. Building on the previous success story, the holding company was restructured from 'Aktiv Optik & Akustik GmbH' to 'LoQu Optical Group GmbH'. Tammo Bruns took over the chairmanship of the management; Ruth-Anna Weißmann had been in management since 2015, and Christoph Wein was added as CFO in 2020. The company was named Top-Arbeitgeber in 2012, 2017 and 2020.
