Anton/Bauer® describes itself as the pioneering force behind many battery technologies that have become industry-standard in broadcast, video and cinema. Its range covers power needs from DSLR and mirrorless cameras through camcorders and cine rigs up to large shoulder cameras for ENG or EFP. Industry-leading products include Gold Mount® and V-Mount batteries, smart chargers, cine batteries and battery mounting brackets designed for digital video and electronic field production equipment. The brand states it has been the power behind the picture for over 50 years.
History
In 1970 Anton Wilson, a cameraman for U.S. broadcast television network ABC, formed a partnership with his Cornell University roommate George Bauer, an accomplished electrical engineer. Their mission was to build a better battery. Using Anton's real-world experience and his intimate knowledge of the challenges and frustrations encountered by camera crews every day, Bauer was able to engineer powerful solutions that pioneered the industry's first smart chargers and digital batteries. For over 50 years, Anton/Bauer has been the power behind the picture for anyone using a camera to shoot moving images, from breaking news around the world, capturing sports action, documenting remote, wild and extreme environments, or shooting blockbuster movies in Hollywood.
