Artizara was founded in 2002 as a modest fashion resource for active, socially conscious women. The founder, Sarah Ansari, has been sewing clothes since she was young and was taught by her mother to make clothes piece by piece. She was inspired by the rich artistry of cultures influenced by Islam, recalling looking up at the ceiling in an ancient mosque, enthralled by the interlocking patterns. She started Artizara to share a story of human connection through witnessing beauty. The brand describes itself as a pioneer in the online modest fashion space and states it is now setting its sights to grow into a global Islamic art and culture inspired lifestyle brand.
