Overview
Gruppo Arvedi is an Italian steel group whose companies operate from raw material through to finished product, supported by a strategy oriented toward quality production and investment in innovative technologies. Its founder, Giovanni Arvedi, established the first two companies in 1963 for the manufacture and trade of welded carbon steel tubes; in the 1980s the group began designing and building its own steelworks, Acciaieria Arvedi, using process technology developed and patented worldwide under the names Arvedi ISP and ESP. In 2022 Arvedi acquired AST Terni from ThyssenKrupp. The group's activities span primary products such as steel and hot coils to finished products including precision re-rolled strip, tubes and stainless forgings.
History
In 1963 Giovanni Arvedi founded the first two companies for the manufacture and trade of welded carbon steel tubes. In the 1980s, needing to secure a regular supply of high-quality raw material, the group began designing and building its own steelworks, Acciaieria Arvedi, using an original and competitive process technology studied, developed and patented worldwide under the names Arvedi ISP and ESP. In 2022 Arvedi acquired AST Terni from ThyssenKrupp, a company described as a leader in special steel production, with a significant investment plan aimed at production expansion and decarbonization through the application of circular economy concepts. The group has taken a leading role in Europe in environmentally compatible steel, and its activities range from primary products such as steel and hot coils to finished products in the form of precision re-rolled strip, tubes and stainless forgings.
