Overview

Asagami Corporation (アサガミ株式会社) is a Japanese logistics and distribution company headquartered in Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Its origins date to 1918, when Asagami Shoten was founded as a partnership company. In November 1948, with investment from Tokyo Kyuko Electric Railway (now Tokyu Corporation), the business was established as Soei Transport Co., Ltd. The company changed its name to Asagami Warehouse Co., Ltd. in 1950, and in 1954 merged with Tokyo Koun Co., Ltd. to become Asagami Koun Warehouse Co., Ltd. It adopted its current name, Asagami Corporation, in 1989. The company has been listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange since 1961 and is currently listed on the TSE Standard Market. Asagami operates across six core business segments: warehousing, harbor and forwarding, transport, third-party logistics (3PL), printing, and air cargo. Its warehouse business provides space and logistics solutions; its harbor and forwarding operations serve the Kanto Bay Area with marine transportation, container handling and customs clearance; its transport division handles land transportation; its 3PL segment offers integrated logistics outsourcing; its printing business produces newspapers, New Year's cards and wedding cards; and its air cargo division provides air freight forwarding and customs brokerage. The company also offers packaging and crating services. Asagami has a long-standing relationship with JFE Steel and has been a designated contractor for Kawasaki Steel (now JFE Steel) since 1953 and for Asahi Glass (now AGC) since 1959. It has expanded through subsidiaries including Asagami Press Center, Maiprint, Aero Koku, and Asagami Logistics, and established Asagami Logistics (Tangshan) Co., Ltd. in China in 2012. The company has also engaged in sponsorship activities, such as sponsoring Kokugakuin University's uniform for the 97th Tokyo-Hakone Round-Trip University Ekiden Race in 2021, and acquiring naming rights for Heisei-ga-hama Central Park in Sakacho, Hiroshima Prefecture, naming it "Asagami Bay Side Park" in 2022. Asagami positions itself as a logistics partner in Japan, emphasizing safety, quality and price, and aiming to be a "company of choice" for both customers and partners. It continues to adapt to a rapidly changing corporate environment while maintaining customer satisfaction.
