Overview

Beijing Baidu Netcom Science Technology Co., Ltd. is identified in the supplied record as a company from China classified under information technology and domain registrars. The available material does not establish whether the entity operates a consumer-facing domain-registration brand, functions primarily as a legal or operating subsidiary, or provides domain services directly under its own name. No reliable Wikipedia article, official website, corporate filing, ownership record, executive roster, financial disclosure, founding information, or documented product history was supplied for this exact legal-entity name. The company name contains “Baidu,” but that naming element alone is not sufficient to infer a particular ownership structure, relationship with Baidu, Inc., or operating role. It is therefore not appropriate to attribute Baidu products, platforms, executives, dates, financial results, or corporate events to this entity without entity-specific documentation. Likewise, the supplied industry classification should be treated as provisional because the available evidence does not describe the company’s actual service portfolio. On the evidence available, the safest characterization is a China-based technology-related legal entity whose possible connection to domain-registration activity requires verification. A fuller encyclopedia entry would require authoritative Chinese corporate-registration information, an official company or service website, domain-registry records, reliable ownership documentation, or other sources that clearly distinguish this entity from similarly named Baidu companies and from Baidu-branded internet services.

History

No reliable entity-specific historical record was provided for Beijing Baidu Netcom Science Technology Co., Ltd. The supplied material identifies the company as Chinese and places it in a domain-registrar classification, but it does not provide a verifiable incorporation date, founder, headquarters, ownership chain, operating history, product launches, regulatory record, or relationship with any larger corporate group. The name’s inclusion of “Baidu” creates a significant identification risk. Companies using related names may have different legal identities, ownership arrangements, or business functions, and information about a better-known Baidu entity should not be transferred to this company without a source explicitly naming the exact legal entity. In particular, the available material does not establish that this company owns or operates Baidu’s search, cloud, advertising, artificial-intelligence, mapping, content, or other consumer and enterprise services. The company’s possible role in domain registration also remains unverified. No registrar accreditation, registry record, product catalogue, pricing information, market description, or service documentation was supplied. Consequently, there is insufficient evidence to write a conventional corporate history or to identify major milestones. The entry should be revisited when authoritative corporate-registration documents, an official website, domain-registration records, or reliable reporting about this exact entity become available.

Wei Zexi case: Joint cyberspace investigation team enters Baidu

In April 2016, college student Wei Zexi, who had synovial sarcoma, found through Baidu search a top-ranked hospital, the Second Hospital of the Beijing Armed Police Corps, received ineffective "biological immunotherapy" there, and later died, triggering strong condemnation of Baidu's medical paid search rankings. On May 2, the Cyberspace Administration of China, together with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and the National Health and Family Planning Commission, formed a joint investigation team and entered Baidu. On May 9, the investigation findings concluded that Baidu's paid search rankings gave too much weight to paid placement and that commercial promotion labels were unclear, objectively affecting Wei Zexi's choice of medical treatment. Baidu was required to immediately clean up medical promotions, switch to a ranking mechanism based mainly on credibility, clearly label promotional information, and limit the proportion of promotions to within 30%; Baidu promised to rectify the situation and took a large number of medical promotions offline. The incident pushed forward the introduction of the Interim Measures for the Administration of Internet Advertising.
