History

The Bund Katholischer Unternehmer was founded on 27 March 1949 in the Adam-Stegerwald-Haus in Königswinter, and in 2024 it celebrated its 75th anniversary. Its stated aim was to contribute out of Christian responsibility to the reconstruction of the German economy and the establishment of a humane social order in post-war Germany, and to bring the socio-political and social-ethical concerns of entrepreneurs into public awareness. From the beginning the association committed itself to competitive market economy and to free but socially responsible entrepreneurship.
