Overview
Busaba is a UK restaurant chain serving modern Bangkok eating in the heart of London. Its menu is built around sharing dishes such as freshly prepared salads, Pad Thais and curries, with a large portion of the menu being plant-based. The brand's philosophy centres on the Thai axiom 'Gan Gin Gan Yuu' ('as you eat, so you are') and the living ethos 'Sookjai', meaning 'to enjoy' and 'happy heart'. The first Busaba Eathai restaurant was opened by Alan Yau on Wardour St in Soho, London in 1999.
History
Busaba's history begins in 1999, when Alan Yau opened a new Thai dining concept, Busaba Eathai, on Wardour St in Soho, London. In 2003, Busaba's second restaurant on Goodge St opened with a Thai Buddhist monk's blessing ceremony, a tradition in the company's culture to bring good luck, success and prosperity. In 2005, Busaba in St. Christopher's Place opened, which would later become the Busaba flagship restaurant. In 2011, Busaba opened 6 more restaurants, reaching 9 in Central London. By 2014, Busaba had 10 restaurants. In 2017, Click & Collect launched, and in 2024 Busaba Delivery with Just Eat launched.
