Overview
Busch Beer is a brand of beer owned by Anheuser-Busch. It began in 1955 as Busch Bavarian, the first beer made by Anheuser-Busch following prohibition, and in 1979 became the Busch beer known today. The brand's lineup has expanded over the decades to include Busch Light, Busch NA, and Busch Ice.
History
Busch beer began in 1955 as Busch Bavarian, described as the first beer made by Anheuser-Busch following prohibition, and was given the slogan "Clear and Bright as Mountain Air." In 1979, after nearly a quarter century, Busch Bavarian became the Busch beer known today, with a lighter and sweeter taste, the slogan "Head for the Mountains," and its own sound of refreshment, "Buschhhhh." Busch's first light beer, Busch Light Draft, arrived in 1989, and "Draft" was dropped in 1994 to become purely Busch Light. Busch introduced its first non-alcoholic beer in 1994 with Busch NA and the slogan "Mountain of Real Beer Taste." In 1995, Busch welcomed Busch Ice to the family, with a higher alcohol percentage at 5.9% and the slogan "Brave the Cold." In 2006, Busch introduced its first camo packaging, and the Busch Camo cans remain a fan favorite.
