CodeHS is a coding and computer science platform for K-12 schools, providing curriculum, tools, and resources to teachers, students, and schools. Its mission is to empower all students to meaningfully impact the future, based on the belief that coding is a foundational skill in the 21st century. The platform offers over 100 customizable, standards-aligned courses across Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Literacy, from elementary lessons to AP-level courses. CodeHS was started by Jeremy and Zach, who met in their freshman dorm at Stanford, where they majored in computer science and helped teach intro courses; they started CodeHS their senior year to give everyone the same opportunities as Stanford computer science students.
History
Jeremy and Zach met in their freshman dorm at Stanford where they started and ran The Stanford Flipside, the satirical newspaper on campus. They both majored in computer science and participated in the section leader program for 3 years, helping teach and run the intro courses. They started CodeHS their senior year so they could give everyone around the world the same opportunities as Stanford computer science students.
