Overview

Com7 Public Company Limited (commonly known as Com7 or Comseven) is a Thai retail group specializing in information technology products, including desktop and laptop computers, mobile phones, tablets, and modern lifestyle accessories. The business traces its origins to 1996, when founder Sura Kanittaveekul and partners opened an IT retail shop called Big It in the Pantip Plaza shopping mall in Bangkok. At that time, fewer than 10% of Thailand's population had access to computer devices, and the founders saw an opportunity in the growing IT market. The company was formally incorporated as Com7 International Company Limited on 27 February 2004. Com7 operates through multiple retail brands. BaNANA sells computers, mobile phones, tablets, video game consoles and accessories; BKK and KingKong Phone focus on mobile phones and tablets; Studio7 (formerly iStudio by Com7) and U-Store are authorized Apple resellers; and the group also runs Samsung Shop, Oppo Shop, Vivo Shop, Huawei Shop and Xiaomi Shop outlets. Its service arm includes iCare, which provides Apple product repair services, and True Shop by Com7, which operates TrueMove H telecom stores. The company also has a B2B business supplying products, systems, software and solutions to enterprises and educational institutions, and an online retail channel at bnn.in.th. As of the third quarter of 2021, the group managed 958 branches across its various chains, including 353 BaNANA stores, 109 Studio7 stores, 85 KingKong Phone stores, 123 True Shop by Com7 outlets, 109 franchise stores, 43 BKK stores, 30 iCare centers and 106 other outlets. Com7 is listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand under the ticker COM7. In 2026, Plan B Media Public Company Limited acquired an 11.01% stake in Com7 through a two-stage share purchase completed on 30 June. The company emphasizes sustainability, social responsibility, environmental care and good governance in its operations.

History

Com7's history began in 1996 when Sura Kanittaveekul and a group of co-founders opened an IT retail shop called Big It in Pantip Plaza, a well-known IT shopping mall in Bangkok. At the time, fewer than 10% of Thailand's population had access to computer devices, and the founders recognized the growth potential of the IT retail business. The initial operation had only five employees. On 27 February 2004, the business was incorporated as Com7 International Company Limited. The company initially engaged in both wholesale distribution of IT products to retailers nationwide and retail sales through its own store in Pantip Plaza. Management later determined that retail offered better advantages than wholesale, and the company shifted its focus to retail, expanding its store network into shopping centers and department stores across Thailand. In 2005, Com7 entered into an Authorized Reseller agreement with Apple South Asia (Thailand) Ltd., allowing it to distribute Apple products under store names iStudio, iBeat and U-Store by Comseven. This marked a significant expansion into premium branded retail. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, although IT retail stores were forced to close like other businesses, demand for IT products surged. Com7's online sales grew from approximately 60–70 million baht to around 400 million baht. After shopping malls reopened, online sales settled at 200–300 million baht. In September 2021, a subsidiary called Adept Company Limited (formerly Banana Group Company Limited) began distributing Realme brand products. As of the third quarter of 2021, the group operated 958 branches under its various retail brands, including BaNANA (353), Studio7 (109), KingKong Phone (85), True Shop by Com7 (123), franchise stores (109), BKK (43), iCare (30) and others (106). In 2026, Plan B Media Public Company Limited acquired shares in Com7 from existing shareholders in two tranches: first 93 million shares (3.89%) and then 170 million shares, totaling 263 million shares or 11.01%. The transaction was completed on 30 June 2026. Com7 is listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand under the ticker COM7.
