History
Compass-Verlag was founded in 1867 as an address book publisher in Vienna. Over more than 157 years, it has evolved into a leading provider of digital business information. In 2017, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary with more than 400 guests, publishing a commemorative publication. In 2018, the Wirtschafts-Compass went online after more than 10 person-years of development. In 2020, the Compass-Gruppe moved to a new location at Schönbrunner Straße 231, 1120 Wien. In 2024, a generational change occurred: after 47 years, the ownership structure changed for the first time, with Hermann Futter becoming the largest shareholder, after Heide-Lene Futter had been the main owner for decades.
