Overview
Curia Tecnoparque is a technology park and business incubation initiative based in Anadia, Portugal. Its business incubator, the Incubadora do Curia Tecnoparque (ICT), was established in 2006 and is currently under the tutelage of the Municipality of Anadia (Município de Anadia). The project is supported by partnerships with the University of Aveiro and the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, linking the park to regional academic and technical expertise. The incubator's stated mission is to promote the development of new business opportunities, disseminate a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, and contribute to regional development. Its vision is to stimulate the creation and growth of companies, generating a favourable economic impact for the municipality and the wider region. In 2019, the ICT was accredited by IAPMEI (the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation) to provide incubation services, under accreditation number 40948. As a municipal initiative, Curia Tecnoparque operates as a public-sector vehicle for economic development rather than a private commercial company. It offers incubation services to early-stage ventures, supported by the IAPMEI Vale Incubação programme, which subsidises the cost of incubation services at accredited incubators. The park's activities are focused on the Anadia municipality and the surrounding Centro region of Portugal. Curia Tecnoparque's official information is published through the Municipality of Anadia's website. The park's contact point is managed by the municipal administration, and its operations are governed by published norms, a price list (preçário), and a defined operating schedule. Its dual role is to host and support new businesses while acting as a catalyst for entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.
History
The Incubadora do Curia Tecnoparque (ICT) was created in 2006 as a business incubation initiative in Anadia, Portugal. It was established under the tutelage of the Municipality of Anadia, with the University of Aveiro and the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra as partners. The creation of the incubator was intended to promote new business opportunities and spread a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation for regional development. In 2019, the incubator reached a significant milestone when it was accredited by IAPMEI, the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, to provide incubation services. This accreditation, numbered 40948, was granted following a joint deliberation by the Steering Committee of the Managing Authorities of the Operational Programmes and the Boards of Directors of IAPMEI and Turismo de Portugal, IP, dated 11 February 2019. The accreditation made the ICT eligible for the IAPMEI Vale Incubação programme, a measure designed to boost entrepreneurial capacity and support the acceleration and success of new companies by subsidising the contracting of incubation services at pre-accredited incubators. As of the present, Curia Tecnoparque continues to operate under the Municipality of Anadia, providing incubation services and promoting entrepreneurship in the region. Its operations are documented through published norms, a price list, and an operating schedule, all accessible via the municipality's website.
