Overview
CyDen is a UK-based manufacturer of beauty technology that specialises in energy-based innovation for skin and hair. Founded in Swansea in 2002, where its headquarters remain, the company began with IPL for professional salon and medical use, launched its first at-home IPL hair removal device in 2009, and later introduced the consumer brand SmoothSkin. It operates as an OEM/ODM partner and runs in-house clinical facilities in Wales and Central London.
History
CyDen was founded in 2002, beginning with IPL for professional use in salon and medical purposes. In 2009 it became the first company to launch an IPL hair removal device for at-home consumer use. A long-standing partnership with a market-leading FMCG brand for IPL hair removal consumer devices began in 2011. In 2014 CyDen launched the customer-facing brand SmoothSkin and was first to develop patented technology for auto-skin tone adjustment. Manufacturing facilities were brought in-house in the UK in 2018, the same year its first commercial office opened in Tokyo, Japan. CyDen was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2019. A second factory opened in China in 2021, supporting major growth and reducing carbon footprint.
