Founded by the late Kirit Patel MBE and his brother JC Patel in 1975 with the purchase of their first pharmacy in Southborough, the Day Lewis Group has grown to over 240 pharmacies in the UK. The family business is now led by a management team that includes Kirit's children, Jay, Rupa and Sam Patel, supported by his brother J.C. Patel. The company describes itself as having advanced from a traditional retail pharmacy business into a patient-orientated service provider, fulfilling over 25 million prescriptions in the UK each year. Its services include NHS services such as Pharmacy First, travel clinics, vaccinations and private services such as weight loss.

• NHS Pharmacy First Service

  Enables patients to access health advice and treatment via their local Day Lewis Pharmacy for seven common conditions, including earache, urine infections, impetigo, sore throat, infected insect bites, shingles and sinusitis, without the need to visit their GP.

• Weight Loss Service

  Subject to a clinical consultation, provides oral and injectable medications.

• Blood Pressure Check

  Free check for those aged 40 and over and not on blood pressure medication.

• Sexual Health Services

  Includes NHS C Card Scheme, chlamydia screening, erectile dysfunction prescriptions, morning after pill, emergency contraception, period delay tablets, period pain relief, pharmacy contraception service, thrush treatment and UTI treatment.
