Overview

DC BLOX is an American data center platform company that designs, builds and operates interconnected colocation facilities and fiber networks, primarily in secondary and tertiary markets across the Southeastern United States. The company was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Rather than competing head-on in the largest hyperscale hubs, DC BLOX positions itself around underserved regional markets where enterprise, healthcare, financial services, government and content-distribution customers need carrier-neutral data center capacity and low-latency connectivity closer to their end users. The company's offering set centers on colocation — rack, cage and private-suite space with redundant power and cooling — combined with network services, internet exchange and cloud on-ramp connectivity, and managed and cloud services that help regional enterprises adopt hybrid and multi-cloud architectures. DC BLOX has built a connected campus model in which its data centers in a region are linked by its own fiber routes, allowing customers to reach major carrier hotels and cloud providers without relying solely on third-party networks. DC BLOX's footprint has grown through greenfield construction and acquisitions of regional data center and fiber operators, extending its presence across states including Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina. Its customer base skews toward regional enterprises, healthcare systems, financial institutions, service providers and content and media companies that value proximity, connectivity and local support over pure scale. DC BLOX is privately held and backed by institutional investors, and it operates as a brand under its own corporate entity rather than as part of a large telecom or REIT group. Its market positioning is that of a regional digital-infrastructure partner: carrier-neutral, interconnection-rich, and focused on markets that larger national providers tend to overlook.

History

DC BLOX was founded in 2014 and established its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, with an initial focus on building data center capacity in Southeastern US markets that lacked modern, carrier-neutral colocation. The company's early strategy was to develop interconnected facilities in growing secondary cities rather than in established hyperscale hubs such as Northern Virginia or Silicon Valley. Over the following years DC BLOX expanded its footprint through a combination of greenfield construction and acquisitions of regional data center and fiber operators, adding facilities and network routes in states including Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina. This build-and-buy approach allowed the company to assemble a connected campus model in which regional data centers are linked by its own fiber, giving customers paths to major carrier hotels and cloud providers. As demand for hybrid and multi-cloud architectures grew among regional enterprises, healthcare systems and financial institutions, DC BLOX broadened its portfolio beyond pure colocation into network services, internet exchange and cloud on-ramp connectivity, and managed and cloud services. The company has remained privately held and investor-backed, operating under its own corporate brand rather than as a division of a large telecom carrier or data center REIT.
