Overview
Dedsit is a Belgian television production house based in Schelle, in the province of Antwerp. Originally founded on 27 February 2001 as DED's It Productions by Dirk Verhoeye, Erik Gordts and David Ottenburgh, the company has grown into a full-service content creator that produces fiction series, talk shows, studio shows, documentaries, reality formats and advertising spots. Its office brings together people from television, advertising and design backgrounds, and the company emphasises keeping all production capabilities in house — from development to delivery. In 2006, the Belgian entertainment group Studio 100 acquired half of the shares in the company. At the end of 2018, Studio 100 took over the remaining shares from the founders. In 2019, the headquarters moved to Schelle, and Bob Jennes and James Cooke acquired half of the shares and took on day-to-day management. Under this leadership, Dedsit has continued to produce flagship content for the Flemish broadcaster Play, including talk shows, studio shows and fiction series. Dedsit's recent output includes the fiction series Microdrama, the talk show De tafel van Gert, the studio show James & Co, and the return of the classic Zeg Eens Euh to Play. The company has also pioneered Flemish microdramas on Play Shorts and produces the Kastaars television show. Its portfolio spans comedy, sitcom, drama series, documentary, reality and unique formats, and it also produces commercials. With its headquarters in Schelle and a broad in-house creative team, Dedsit positions itself as a one-stop shop for television and advertising content in Flanders.
