Overview

Dencare (登康), formally Chongqing Dencare Oral Care Products Co., Ltd. (重庆登康口腔护理用品股份有限公司), is a Chinese oral-care company headquartered in Chongqing. Its history reaches back to 1939 and the "Dalai Chemical Pancreatin Factory"; through soap-making consolidation in the 1950s and the establishment of a toothpaste workshop in 1959, the business became the first specialized toothpaste factory in southwestern China in 1964. In December 2001 it was re-established as a joint-stock company, and in April 2023 it listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Main Board under ticker 001328, among the first main-board listings under China's full registration-based IPO system and the first Chongqing company to list on the A-share market that year. The company develops, manufactures and sells oral-care products. Its portfolio spans toothpastes, toothbrushes and mouthwashes; children's oral care; electric oral-care devices such as sonic electric toothbrushes and water flossers; oral antibacterial pastes and rinses; and oral medical devices including tooth desensitizers. Its brand family includes the mass-market oral-care brands "Dencare" and "Lengsuanling" (冷酸灵), the premium professional brand "Yiyan" (医研), the children's brand "Beilele" (贝乐乐), and the premium infant-and-child brand "Mengya" (萌芽). Lengsuanling is the group's core brand and the leader of China's anti-sensitive toothpaste market, with roughly 60% share of that segment according to Nielsen offline retail research cited by the company; cumulative Lengsuanling toothpaste sales exceed six billion units. By 2024 the company reported that Lengsuanling toothpaste ranked among the top three in offline retail channel share, its toothbrushes among the top two, and its anti-sensitive toothpaste first in that sub-segment. The company describes itself as a national high-tech enterprise, a national "science and technology reform demonstration" enterprise, a national industrial brand cultivation demonstration enterprise, a national green factory and one of the first national excellent-level smart factories. It operates four national-level and eight provincial-level innovation platforms, including a national industrial design center, a national post-doctoral research workstation, a CNAS-accredited laboratory and the China Light Industry Oral Care (Anti-Sensitivity) Engineering Technology Research Center. Dencare positions itself around a focused oral-care strategy summarized as "bite down on oral care and never let go; keep the main business rooted in the mouth." It sells nationwide through integrated online and offline channels and is expanding into the broader oral-health industry chain while pursuing digital transformation. In 2025, after reform and restructuring between Chongqing Electromechanical Holding (Group) Co. and Chongqing Light Textile Holding (Group) Co., Chongqing Electromechanical Holding (Group) Co. became the company's indirect controlling shareholder.

History

Dencare's corporate history traces to 1939 and the "Dalai Chemical Pancreatin Factory" (大来化学制胰厂). In 1956, the Dalai Soap Factory, Dacheng Soap Factory and Zhonghua Soap Factory were consolidated under public-private partnership into the "Chongqing Dalai Soap Factory," later renamed "Chongqing Dalai Chemical Factory." In 1959 a toothpaste workshop was built at the Chongqing Dalai Chemical Factory, producing the first generation of soap-base "Dongfeng" and "Julong" toothpastes. In 1964, with approval from China's Ministry of Light Industry, the first specialized toothpaste factory designated for the southwestern region was established as the "Chongqing Jiangbei Toothpaste Factory," later renamed "Chongqing Toothpaste Factory." In 1987, Lengsuanling desensitizing toothpaste was launched, marking the birth of the Lengsuanling brand. In December 2001, through shareholding-system reform, Chongqing Dencare Oral Care Products Co., Ltd. was formally established. In 2002 the company received the "China Top Brand" title and "China Well-Known Trademark" recognition. In 2008 Dencare completed relocation of its plant to No. 389 Haier Road, Jiangbei District. In 2009 it established the Lengsuanling Anti-Tooth-Sensitivity Research Center, described as the industry's first such center. In 2012 the company passed integrated ISO9001, ISO14000 and OHSAS18000 certification, becoming one of the first in the industry to do so. In 2013 Dencare set out its focused development strategy — "bite down on oral care and never let go; keep the main business rooted in the mouth" — and subsequently formulated a business plan and implementation path built around "four beams and eight pillars." In 2016 it began building an "internet plus industry chain" digital operating platform centered on ERP, led by CRM, supported by OA and assisted by sHR and big-data systems, laying a foundation for digital transformation. In 2020 Dencare introduced strategic investors through a public listing for capital increase on the Chongqing United Assets and Equity Exchange and implemented core-employee shareholding, completing mixed-ownership reform. In April 2021 it obtained a Class II medical device production license, giving it the qualification and capability to independently produce tooth desensitizers. In May 2022 it submitted IPO application documents including the prospectus to the China Securities Regulatory Commission, which accepted them. In April 2023 Dencare listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Main Board under ticker 001328, among the first batch of main-board listings under the full registration-based system and the first Chongqing enterprise to list on the A-share market that year. By 2024 the company reported that its core Lengsuanling toothpaste had entered the top three in offline retail channel market share, its toothbrushes the top two, and its anti-sensitive toothpaste ranked first in that sub-segment. In 2025, Chongqing Electromechanical Holding (Group) Co. and Chongqing Light Textile Holding (Group) Co. completed reform and restructuring, with Chongqing Electromechanical Holding (Group) Co. becoming Dencare's indirect controlling shareholder. The company has been recognized as one of Chongqing's light-industry "Five Golden Flowers," a Chongqing time-honored brand, and a national high-tech enterprise, national science-and-technology reform demonstration enterprise, national industrial brand cultivation demonstration enterprise, national green factory and one of the first national excellent-level smart factories.
