Detecto is a weighing products brand founded in 1900 in Brooklyn, New York by three immigrant brothers, the Jacobs Brothers, who were skilled at building and repairing foodservice scales. Cardinal Scale acquired Detecto in 1981, adding lower-capacity foodservice and healthcare scales to its business. Cardinal/Detecto manufactures and markets a complete line of quality weighing products and systems, with its factory and headquarters in Webb City, Missouri, USA and distributors in over 110 countries.
