Overview

The Deutsche Bank Stiftung is a foundation of the Deutsche Bank. It aims to develop and sustainably strengthen the potential of young people, supports projects that open up new realms of experience, encourages young artists, contributes to the integration of people with migration and flight history, strengthens equal opportunities for disadvantaged groups, promotes cultural life in Germany, and engages in disaster prevention worldwide with strong partners.

History

In 1986, the foundation 'Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe' was established on the initiative of Alfred Herrhausen, then spokesman of the Board of Managing Directors of Deutsche Bank. After Herrhausen's murder in 1989, the foundation was named after him. In 1995, on the occasion of its 125th anniversary, Deutsche Bank consolidated its diverse cultural engagement in the Kultur-Stiftung der Deutschen Bank. The current Deutsche Bank Stiftung emerged in 2005 from the merger of the Deutsche Bank Stiftung Alfred Herrhausen Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe and the Kultur-Stiftung der Deutschen Bank.
