The Deutsche Morbus Crohn / Colitis ulcerosa Vereinigung (DCCV) e.V. describes itself as the self-help association for the 600,000 people with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (CED) in Germany. It provides personal counselling and support for those affected and their relatives, arranges contacts to self-help groups, doctors, nursing staff, hospitals and rehabilitation clinics, and offers social-law support and legal protection for members. It also supports local self-help groups and organises training events for those affected, relatives, doctors and nursing staff.
