Deutsche Vilomix Tierernährung GmbH is a German manufacturer of mineral feed and premixes (Vormischungen) headquartered in Neuenkirchen-Vörden in the Landkreis Vechta, Lower Saxony. The company is part of the VILOFOSS Group, whose ultimate parent is the Danish agricultural cooperative DLG (Dansk Landbrugs Grovvareselskab a.m.b.a.) based in Fredericia, Denmark. The name VILOMIX is an abbreviation of "Vitamine Lohmann Mix", reflecting its origins as a department of Lohmann Tierernährung in Cuxhaven at the end of the 1960s. The company became independent in 1972 and moved its headquarters to Neuenkirchen in 1974. In 1972 the Deutsche Vilomix became an independent company, and in 1974 its headquarters were relocated to Neuenkirchen in the Landkreis Vechta, about 30 km north of Osnabrück. Since 1992 the Wübbenhorst Tierernährung GmbH in Oldenburg has belonged to the company group, and since 1993 the former Cimbria company in Hessisch Oldendorf has served as a second production site. In 1993 Vilomix was taken over by the Danish DLG as a 100% subsidiary and today belongs to the VILOFOSS Group. The ultimate parent company is Dansk Landbrugs Grovvareselskab a.m.b.a. (DLG), Fredericia, Denmark, in whose consolidated financial statements the company is included. In 2007 a premix plant was opened in Orenburg, Russia, about 1,230 km southeast of Moscow near the border with Kazakhstan. From 2009 a new feed plant was built in Haldensleben near Magdeburg, which began production in spring 2011. Since 2021 the Orenburg plant has operated under a joint venture as AV NutriSmart; in 2022 the shares in the Russian plant were sold.
