Overview
DeviceLock DLP is a software complex of the DLP (data loss prevention) class designed to protect against information leakage. It was developed by DeviceLock, Inc., a company founded in 1996 and headquartered in Moscow, Russia. The product was sold under the DeviceLock DLP name until 2020, when the developer company was acquired by Acronis. After the acquisition, the product's current name in the Russian market is Cyber Protego (actively developed), while in the international market it is Acronis DeviceLock DLP (development effectively frozen). The system implements both contextual protection methods (control of access to ports, interfaces, devices, network protocols and services, logging of access and events of data transfer and storage) and content-based data filtering methods, applying content filtering directly on controlled workstations when attempts to transfer or save data occur. It is a full-fledged Russian-developed DLP system certified by FSTEC. DeviceLock DLP controls and logs (including shadow copying) user access to peripheral devices, I/O ports, network protocols and web services. The agent-based approach to implementing the DLP system allows controlling the entire spectrum of potentially dangerous devices and network communication channels directly at the point where the threat of information leakage arises. Potential data leakage channels controlled by the system include: USB ports, disk drives, CD and DVD drives, removable storage, smartphones based on iOS, Windows Mobile, Palm and Blackberry, any external and internal storage devices and hard drives, local and network printers, as well as FireWire, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, COM, LPT, IrDA ports, Windows Clipboard, simple and SSL-protected SMTP email sessions, HTTP and HTTPS sessions, MAPI and IBM/Lotus Notes, webmail and social networks, instant messaging (IM) and video conferencing (Zoom), file exchange via FTP and FTP-SSL protocols, shared network resources (SMB), file-sharing services (such as DropBox, SkyDrive), Telnet sessions, Torrent and Tor. The entire process of controlling both devices and local ports and network communication channels, including content filtering (analysis of content with a decision on the possibility of data transfer), is carried out by executive agents installed on users' work computers. In addition to the executive agents and their components for controlling devices, network protocols and content filtering, the complex includes a search server (DeviceLock Search Server), a server for scanning and discovering data on workstations and network storages - DeviceLock Discovery, and a server module DeviceLock EtherSensor, which allows logging network events and messages and files transmitted over the network without involving DeviceLock agents. A key functional feature of DeviceLock DLP is real-time content filtering ("in-line", i.e., the ability to check the content of data (information) transmitted over the network, printed on printers and saved on flash drives). For content analysis, the following methods are used: digital fingerprint analysis, keyword analysis (with support for morphology and transliteration, with a large number of geo-specific and industry dictionaries integrated into the product, with the ability to upgrade them or create custom dictionaries), regular expression template analysis (also with a large number of templates integrated into the product and the ability to upgrade them or create custom ones), analysis by extended document properties, built-in optical character recognition (OCR) module in graphics. Content filtering in DeviceLock DLP is performed directly on protected computers, does not depend on network connectivity, and allows selectively blocking or allowing transfer/printing/saving of data depending on the result of content analysis rules. Selective shadow copying based on content analysis is also implemented.

Key architectural features include the ability to deploy and manage through group policies in an Active Directory domain, and real-time content filtering ("in-line") with methods such as digital fingerprint analysis, keyword analysis, regular expression templates, extended document properties, and OCR. The product and documentation are published in open access on the developer's website, and the trial period is 30 days without limiting functionality.
