DHS Extra

Domestic Home Security, also known as DHS Extra, is an American affiliate marketing website focused on smart home security and home automation products. Founded in 2023 by Dominic Schilt, the site curates and reviews home security cameras, doorbells, smart locks, and alarm systems, helping consumers navigate a confusing market. The website operates through WordPress and generates revenue primarily through affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon. Its content includes product reviews, buying guides, and featured product recommendations, with a stated mission to make home protection simple and reliable. The brand targets U.S. consumers interested in DIY home security and smart home technology. As a relatively new entrant, DHS Extra positions itself as an independent review resource rather than a manufacturer or retailer of security hardware.

Domestic Home Security was founded in 2023 by Dominic Schilt as an affiliate marketing website dedicated to home security and home automation. Schilt, a serial entrepreneur who had previously owned and operated RiverPoint Group until its sale in August 2018, launched the site after being encouraged by his former HR director, Donna Borden. The site was built on WordPress and aims to organize the confusing home security market for consumers. It reviews and recommends products such as security cameras, video doorbells, smart locks, and alarm systems, earning affiliate commissions through links to retailers like Amazon. The brand operates under the name DHS Extra and continues to publish product reviews and buying guides.
