Diu Dau Records

Diu Dau Records is a Finnish independent record label that was registered as a limited company (osakeyhtiö) in 2012. It was founded by the rock band Absoluuttinen Nollapiste, and its CEO is Aake Otsala. The label grew out of Diu Dau Tapes, a cassette-only imprint that had released side-project material by members of the band. Diu Dau Records has so far released only records by the band and its members, operating as a vehicle for the group's own output and related solo projects. Its sub-label, Diu Dau Digital, handles digital releases, including Aake Otsala's solo albums. The label's first release is considered to be Absoluuttinen Nollapiste's 2011 EP Demo 3, which was issued under the Diu Dau Records name even before the company was formally registered. The discography includes albums by Absoluuttinen Nollapiste such as Pisara ja lammas 1 (2012) and Pisara ja lammas 2 (2014), as well as solo works by Aake Otsala and releases by Tommi Liimatta. The label remains a small, artist-run operation focused on the Finnish alternative rock scene.

Diu Dau Records was registered as a limited company in Finland in 2012. It was founded by the band Absoluuttinen Nollapiste, with Aake Otsala serving as CEO. The label's origins trace back to Diu Dau Tapes, a cassette label that released side-project material by members of the band. The first release under the Diu Dau Records name was Absoluuttinen Nollapiste's EP Demo 3, issued on 5 February 2011 as a C-cassette; its cover notes it as the company's first release. The label's first CD and LP release was Pisara ja lammas 1 by Absoluuttinen Nollapiste on 12 October 2012. This was followed by Pisara ja lammas 2 on 30 May 2014. The sub-label Diu Dau Digital has released Aake Otsala's solo albums, including Songs From a Closed Room (originally released digitally on 18 May 2009, later attributed to Diu Dau Digital), Together? Live (29 August 2014), Movement Painters (17 October 2014), and Surfing the Apocalypse (23 February 2015). Other releases include Tommi Liimatta's Rokokoo Computer (CD, 9 September 2016) and Tommi Liimatta & Herttomiehet's Tarkoititko: heteromiehet (digital, 28 August 2020). The label has so far released only records by the band and its members.
